LAIR / Eomac Remix

June 18, 2019 § Leave a comment

I’m very happy to be featured alongside the wonderful artists listed below on this album of remixes of Eomac’s Reconnect.

“Eomac’s ‘Reconnect’ gets the remix treatment by eight different artists from various fields of contemporary electronic music.

Featuring deranged re-synthesis by recent PAN artist Errorsmith, noisy punk-electro from Raster’s Kyoka, a drum and voice workout from Irish producer LAIR, polyrhythmic algorave from Tokyo courtesy of Renick Bell, broody experimental techno from rising star Nene H, next level reggaeton movements from Editions Mego affiliate Okkre, lush ambient from newcomer Dylan Henner and a VIP from Eomac himself.

This is a diverse and varied collection that not only works as a remix package but as a complete listen in itself. An album made independently from different strands, linked by the singualr source material, that comes together as a cohesive whole.”

The stunning artwork is by the SUPER talented artist Jazz Szu-Ying Chen.

Here’s a clip of my contribution to the project:

The album is available to buy now on the Eotrax Bandcamp.

LAIR / 101 Beats Per Minute

I am very happy to be a part of this cool collection.

Dunk Murphy is the brains behind this interesting idea- a group of named producers each make a track at 101BPM and his Countersunk label release them all with the artist name as 101 Beats Per Minute.

You get an interesting, diverse collection of music AND a fun game trying to figure out who wrote which track!

The list of the 23 contributors for this second round of the project are up on the Bandcamp page: https://countersunk.bandcamp.com/album/101-beats-per-minute-ii where you can also ‘name your price’ for the collection. A new track is released each Thursday, so you can catch the stream of the newest track there too.

It was a very different way for me to approach writing a track- if you know my music, BPM is not something I really attach to! I found the whole process of making it really fun and am so happy with the outcome. Thanks to Dunk for inviting me to be a part of it!

Forsaken Longing out tomorrow on Bandcamp

Forsaken Longing is a track I wrote as a response to the beautiful words of artist, writer, teacher and spiritual guide, Andrea Maxine Frade:

Always an empty time fulfilled and wasted this doesn’t keep me from dreaming anymore
What shall I whisper to you tonight, in that darkened room, warmed with body heat
  no longer patting my head
with soft breath on my neck, forsaken longing..
Andrea is a visionary guide who supports women on a spiritual path find their true purpose in life. She distills the essence of ancient wisdom teachings into a language of inspiration and direction. Her work is a blend of Reiki Healing Energy, Craniosacral Therapy and Guided Intuitive Coaching. She offers one to one programs, online courses and transformative group work. You can read more about her work on her website: www.andreafrade.com

Andrea Maxine Frade

I am always inspired by meeting kindred spirits. One such inspiring soul I recently became acquainted with through the wonders of the internet is artist, writer, teacher and spiritual guide Andrea Maxine Frade.

Her instagram page and website are filled with the most stunning imagery and beautiful, light-filled words. I knew I’d be inspired by any poetry she’d care to send me and my track Forsaken Longing, which comes out Monday, is in response to her words below-

Always an empty time fulfilled and wasted this doesn’t keep me from dreaming anymore
What shall I whisper to you tonight, in that darkened room, warmed with body heat
  no longer patting my head
with soft breath on my neck, forsaken longing..
Whether she is sharing her experiences or offering guidance through her posts, her words and images feel to me to be profoundly connected- each deepening the other- so I asked Andrea if she would like to share an image here to go with her poem above. She sent the following one with words that give her audience a further insight to her creative impetus as both an artist and a woman.

This was me many years ago. Before yoga, before even art school. Before I began teaching I was in search of the language of intimacy, the soft space of what it means to be known, from the inside. This was and has always been the driving force behind my work as an artist and now as a writer, teacher and spiritual guide.

For me my work is a forceful passionate and exhilarating understanding of what it means to be human, what it means to be alive, what it means to be a woman, in a body, with biology and a deep fierce soul. This is my work, my craft, my art, the essence behind my movement practice, the motivation to search and seek and find, to lift the veils. It is all a means to understand and touch into the core of our being here, the fabric of aliveness. Our conscious experience of grace.

I feel so grateful for this tender awareness and sacred process. To awaken the beauty that dwells within and hold a healing space for it all is the art form, and it lives and breathes within each of us.

It is our vulnerability and the generous nature to our truths. It is the marrow of love in all the ways we remember who we are through our own becoming. For therein lies the greatest wisdom. .

Her vulnerability and honesty are truly inspiring and I am honoured she shared her poetry with me.
Here are the links to her website and Instagram, I urge you to go soak up the inspiring and heart-filled vibes!
